MRI and CT Scans

X-Ray, MRI & CT-scan services

MRI and CT scan services are offered on site for faster diagnosis.  Your doctor will decide which type of scan is most appropriate for you.

What are MRI and CT scans?

CT scan (Computed Axial Tomography) are special x-ray tests that produce cross-sectional images of the body using x-rays and a computer.  It allows physicians to examine the inside of the body in "slices".

Spine CT scans are commonly used to look for a herniated disc or narrowing of the canal (spinal stenosis).  It is also used to look for a fracture or break in the spine.

MRI scan (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) is the type of scan that uses magnetism (instead of x-rays) to build up a picture of the inside of the body.  This is an example of an MRI scan.

MRI is painless, but noisy!  The main advantage of MRI scans are that they use no x-ray radiation.  The soft tissues of the body show up clearly and a single scan can produce pictures from multiple angles.
