Research at Nebraska Spine

The Nebraska Foundation for Spinal Research was founded in 1998 as a non-profit organization by the orthopaedic spine surgeons of the Nebraska Spine Center with the belief that medical research of spine diseases and disorders is a primary component of overall patient service.

The Foundation researches and documents the latest treatments and surgical techniques.  It is actively involved in medical research relating to the causes, diagnosis, prevention and control of spinal disorders.

The physicians of The Nebraska Spine Center support research of current spine topics through their Nebraska Foundation for Spinal Research.    This allows patients the opportunity to qualify for studies that may defer some of the costs associated with their treatments.

DePuy Artificial DiscOne current study deals with cervical degenerative disc disease (DDD) and the use of an artifical cervical disc manufactured by the DePuySpine division of the Johnson & Johnson companies.   The objective of this study is to allow surgeons to replace a degenerated disc with an artificial disc, which may reduce or eliminate the pain associated with DDD without the need for fusion.

For more information about this and other clinical trials currently enrolling patients, call 402-496-0404.  Ask for the Research Department.
